Patch a Jack Russel terrier hopped
on a train to Dublin. The Irish Rail
sent a tweet out about the lost dog,
with a photo of Patch.
Not long after Patch went missing the owner
posted photos on facebook of the missing
Jack Russel terrier. After 500 tweets
in 32 minutes the Irish Rail located
Patch’s owner.
NewsDay.com Reports:
Rail workers on board dubbed the dog Checker, joking he might be trained to inspect people’s tickets, as commuters took turns petting the friendly dog. They turned him over to Pearse Street station staff on the train’s final stop in the heart of the capital, when it became clear the dog had no owner on board.
Irish Rail spokesman Barry Kenny described Twitter as offering the ideal platform for launching a nationwide appeal for the lost dog. And he said some staff at Pearse Station wished it hadn’t worked so well.
Twitter is a great way to get the word out about a
lost dog. You can reach alot of people in a few
key strokes. Its helped find many lost dogs,
including Beagle Gadget.
If you lose your pet, put a short message out
on twitter and facebook. Be sure to post a picture
of your pet, with a date and time when you last saw them.
You can use twitpic and get alot of feadback from many
about your lost pet. Don’t forget to also use Google +.
These social networks can help you in ways that just putting out flyers
could never do. You should do both.
Create a facebaook page with the Name of your pet, and post that link
on your twitter account.This way you can have a massive amount of help finding
your family dog or cat.
