Four dogs went missing during a walk with their owners. They were found hidden under briers. Two beagle pups,
and a terrier were lifted to safety. They used a bucket and a rope to get the dogs out. The one puppy was growling and
shaking, because she was scared. The dogs were found and returned to their owners.
The 12 month old female beagle puppy got very scared and ran down the mine shaft. It took patience and time to get her out.
The Coast Guard unit responded to get the dogs out, they were concerned that the others would try to go down into the mine shaft and get the dogs out themselves.
“It was some experience. I knew I was dead safe but I was nervous. The dog was afraid, she was running about, she didn’t know if she was coming or going, but I was talking away to her to calm her down,” Mr Curley said
Thankfully these dogs, were found, and given back to their owners. There are no reports of injuries. I am sure the owners are glad to have their babies back. Nothing more scary than to have your dog go missing or trapped, and crying for help. Thanks to the help from the Coastguard the dogs were rescued, with no injuries.
