Iraq army veteran crossed three lanes of oncoming traffic on the interstate on Tuesday, to save the life of a beagle. He witnessed the beagle get hit by a car on the interstate that failed to stop. Once he crossed, he tried coaxing the hurt beagle off of the highway. Army veteran Schneider decided to try and pick up the hound. The beagle was in a lot of pain, and he decided the best way to help was to call animal control. He stayed by this baby’s side for three hours in the rain.I admire the compassion, and love he showed for this dog.
“At the end of the day, my combat lifesaver training kicked in, and I’m thankful I was able to use it to help him,” said Schneider. “Having served in Iraq, you see a lot of loss, which is one of the reasons I was determined to see him make it.”
