Halloween is the one time of year, where we can actually dress up,as a fun character. Its a fun time for kids and family. As you know when someone rings the bell for a treat, our beagles start howling.
There some things to keep in mind, for the safety of our pets.
Safety Tips for Halloween:
•Dog Costumes: Make sure that the costume doesn’t have small parts that can be easily chewed or swallowed.
Avoid costumes that restrict your dog’s ability to move, see or hear.
•Its best to keep your beagle at home during Halloween. Decorations on houses, can have strobe lights, loud noises,
and this can scare pets. Kids can also be very scared of dogs. So please don’t take your dog out for a walk on this night.
•Traffic: On this night there is a high amount of cars on residential streets. They don’t always watch where they are going.
So keep your beagle safe and keep them home. When they need to go potty at night, even in a fenced yard take them out on a leash. Sometimes people like to shoot fireworks on Halloween. This does scare dogs. Take your dog out on a leash, wear reflective clothing and use a led leash.
•Little Ghosts and Goblins At your Door: Make sure your pet is in a closed bedroom with another family member. This will help keep your
dog from running out of the house.
•Keep Halloween Candy in a safe place: Beagles love to eat. Chocolate, and any other candy should be placed out of reach for pets.
Don’t give your dog any Halloween Candy. If you suspect that your pet has gotten into something, Call the ASPCA Pet Poison Hotline: 1 888 426 4435
Above all enjoy the holiday. Kick back and watch some fun flicks, and have a safe Halloween.
