My beagle Candy isn’t just a pet,
she is part of my family. She has a big job to do,
like comforting my son during a loud thunder storm.
When he gets scared, she sits on his lap, licks him
and stays right by his side.
She comforts us in bad days. We look forward to playing with her,
and going for walks. Early in the morning
she is the first one to wake us all up and greet us,
with her tail wagging. Her job is to wake us up,
alert us to strangers, and so much more. Naturally she
loves to help out with many things. She loves giving us a
nice beagle song , for grocery day. Her favorite past time
is chasing butterflies with my son, and playing ball.
Since Candy is a huge part of our family, I pay close attention
dog ad campaigns. I enjoy watching these ads geared towards
dogs and their owners.
Its cute and they have some fun apps, like putting your dogs picture in one of their cars. Makes it look like they are doing some off road driving! Go check it out its a blast, Subaru Facebook

Meeting Uno the Westminster best in show 2008 – Camera phone upload powered by ShoZu (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
This year the 137th Westminster
Kennel Club Dog show will actually
take place in two places. There are 3,000 dogs competing for the first time in 15 years.
There are so many dogs, that they had to expand. Its the Dog Superbowl!
Who doesn’t love to watch these gorgeous dogs show their stuff. So having it in two places gives fans a chance to check out the dogs, and buy some cool dog bling.
Some new breeds this year are.the Treeing Walking Coonhound, and the Russel Terrier.
I’m fascinated by the Treeing Walking Coonhound, who gets
its name by chasing a raccoon up a tree. Its absolutely
fascinating to watch these coonhounds climb up a tree. They
look like a huge beagle. A new favorite for me to watch this year.
ABC World News Video with Diane Sawyer
Last year we all watched Uno’s sister Allie
step into the ring. I haven’t heard of any
beagles to watch for. Just have to tune in
and see. If you know of any beagles that
are competing for best in show, tell us about it.
The Westminster Dog Show will air on CNBC on Monday at 7 central and
Tuesday on USA Network live at 7 Central. If you really love the show
like I do, you can download the free Westminster Dog Show 2013 app for your IOS mobile device on Itunes, and its also

Looking for something fun to do this weekend?
The Annual Krewe of Barkus Mardi
Gras Paradeband Dog Costume contest is this Sunday in
Downtown Mckinney Texas.
The event starts at 12:30pm, and the parade
begins at 2pm. The theme for this year’s celebration is
animated characters, from movies, comic books and of course
the Sunday Comics. So bring your imagination, dress your
beagle up as your favorite comic book character. There is
a dog costume contest that starts after the Marid Gras Parade.
Patterned after the legendary Krewe of Barkus, in New Orleans. It was established for a very good
reason, to help abandoned and abused dogs.
The event is free and open to the public. Cost for participants to enter the costume contest is $5 per dog, and pre-registration is required. To register, contact the Art Institute of McKinney at info@artinstituteofmckinney.com by February 3.
